YOUR IBS QUIZ Results:

Low Likelihood of IBS

Your results indicate you have very few IBS symptoms. You are less likely to have elevated IBS biomarkers currently.

However, if you are worried about your gut health or how to maintain your gut health and would like a comprehensive assessment, including a deeper look at the health of your digestive tract and gut microbiome, you may want to consider stool testing as a way to assesses how well you are digesting your food and what keystone species are missing from your gut microbiome. Stool testing is incorporated into the work I do with my private clients.

THE MOST COMMON REASONS SOMEONE DEVELOPS IBS

Acute gastroenteritis: This could have been a result of food poisoning, traveler’s diarrhea, Giardia, Norovirus, or other gastrointestinal infection that led to gastrointestinal motility dysfunction – that’s a fancy way of saying food is no longer moving through your digestive tract at the rate it should. It’s either sped up (causing diarrhea) or slowed down (leading to constipation and many other unwanted symptoms).

Antibiotics: Antibiotics can be life-saving but are also associated with a 2.3-fold increased risk of developing IBS. They are one of the primary causes of visceral hypersensitivity (abdominal pain) and intestinal permeability (leaky gut).

TIPS FOR MAINTAINING YOUR GUT HEALTH:

  • Eat fermented foods every day.
  • Include vegetables at every meal.
  • Consume prebiotic-rich foods like asparagus, onions, garlic, and beans and legumes. (If you can’t tolerate these, that is a sign you have underlying gut issues.)
  • Have at least two servings of polyphenol-rich fruit daily.
  • Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep nightly.
  • Manage chronic stress – meditate, journal, get out in nature, and spend time with people you love.

MY APPROACH

I am a Registered Dietitian and microbiome restoration specialist providing an integrative and comprehensive approach to gut health.

I’m passionate about helping you achieve optimal digestive health so you can heal your gut, correct nutrient deficiencies, and improve metabolic health.

My goal is to help you uncover and correct the root cause of your symptoms so you can stop using bandaids like Immodium, laxatives, or restrictive diets to manage symptoms.

By the end of our time working together, you will have discovered the root cause of your digestive issues, implemented a comprehensive and holistic protocol to heal your gut, and restored the health and function of your gastrointestinal tract and microbiome for lasting results.
